We Didn’t Know Simple Was Weird.
We’re Off Center Acres — a tiny, eccentric farm in Avon, NY where goat jokes, garden chaos, and serious skincare science share the same pasture. It never occurred to us that our way of doing things was an oddity until we started trying to make products at home.
We grow the herbs, tolerate the goat noise, wrangle the geese, and turn it all into small-batch skincare that actually does something besides look cute on a shelf. What good is a product if it just sits on your shelf?
How we got here
It started because no one wants to put junky stuff on their body. It never occurred to us that our way of doing things was somehow different. We just made our own stuff, simple, safe and effective. And frankly, it’s completely unfair to have wrinkles AND acne at the same time. So we did something about it. We’re just a tiny little farm turning herbs, tallow, and clean ingredients into hard-working skincare — no fake scents, no wellness buzzwords, no airbrushed models. Just clean ingredients, quirky labels, and products that actually work. What good is a product that is natural- if it doesn’t WORK?
What we believe
Real Ingredients
Goat and coconut milk, tallow, herbs we actually grow. If we can’t pronounce it, it’s probably not in there.
Weird is Good
Normal is overrated. We like misfits, odd plants, and skincare that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Small on Purpose
Small-batch means we know exactly what’s in every jar. No factory lines, no mystery fillers. Made by two hands in a work room. In Avon, with two dogs on the couch in the livingroom.
Meet Marina
She is our quiet little worker. She has a degree in all things plants and manages to make things grow that really shouldn’t. She manages a farmers market, is a landscape designer, and has a giant heart. She is also our kid and we are incredibly proud of her.
Meet Maggie
She is our inventory specialist. She does all our labeling, and packaging. She has an obsessive nature that keeps us in line. She has a degree in health sciences and working on another in cell biology. She is another one of our kids. We are so proud of her too.
Meet Madison
Our last kiddo- affectionately referred to as boy child as there is only one- works in technical manufacturing so he is more of the occasional grunt worker here on the farm. He works with his Dad in helping on the pork side of the farm business, when he can. He such a great kid who has grown into a great young man.
Meet Scott
The husband, and known to many as “The Bear”. He has hands like hammers and can palm a cantaloupe, he has a talent for solving problems, and having a stubborn determination. Do with that information what you will. You will normally find him in the wood shop!
Meet The Matron
I am Laura, and I have gone by many names over the years, not all of them flattering. When Scott and I bought the farm in 2017, we were filled with ambition. Several job losses, a Global Pandemic, illnesses, loss, financial instability and years of struggle, we still wonder at times what we were thinking, even then. Although I imagine he asks himself that every time he looks at me, but I digress. I have a business and Finance background and a degree to match. Does that mean this is easy? Nope.
I will never promise to anyone that this is easy. I will promise you will work your ass off.
